Soles in Step has returned!

STH continues to take steps to end homelessness, and you have helped along the way!  Last year, your efforts helped us raise $10,597 just by collecting new and used shoes!  Together we collected 27,000 pairs of shoes – that was equal to 26,492 pounds of shoes!  Those shoes were sent to developing countries to create jobs and income through repurposing, refurbishing, and reselling product – and stayed out of our landfills.  Now, to be fair, we collected much more than that.  Hundreds of shoes stayed at STH and were given to clients in need and those shoes didn’t make the count, but made a huge difference locally!

We have started to collect again.  Are you interested in helping?  Many individuals and organizations helped in various ways – from being a collection site for the public, hosting an internal collection, posting flyers, or providing volunteers.  All of these create a successful fundraiser, and successful fundraisers allow STH to continue programs that assist homeless and at-risk women and children, as well as providing food and clothing to those in need.

Please respond if you or someone you know would like to be a part of the Soles in Step initiative this year.  We will accept pairs of shoes of any type in new or used condition.  STH receives .40 cents per pound!  The collecting will continue through October 30, 2016.  We have collection barrels and marketing material available, and our staff will continue to work with you to get your collections to STH for bundling.
